Mike came to understand the role of GenX as the bridge generation after more than 20 years in IT-focused organizations. He worked directly for Boomer CEOs, and was the direct report of late wave GenX and Millennials. Eventually, Mike realized that a major part of his job was to keep him (the CEO) away from them (the Millennials). They just did not understand each other — but Mike understood and worked well with both.
